Small update! new lettering

So, Neil's new devil tattoo is half done, the one posted below this one. I want to wait to take a picture of it when it's all done because it will be a pretty important piece in finishing his arm, with filler and everything.

Made for war
In the meantime, however, here is some fresh lettering I did on Neil. The "Made for war" lettering on his collar bone fills the space pretty well, I think. His whole chest is an ongoing project like his arm because everything is so asymmetrical.

Then I threw his dog's name next to the tattoo on his hand.

up next

I try my hand at drawing a traditional japanese devil. I still think some of my style comes through in the gesture and the distortion, but for the most part i used restraint and didnt let it get too crazy. This guy's going to be in full color and it is the last area we need to focus on in order to finish his left arm; save for a small space between his Uriel devil and his dog hand tatt.

We were going to do this tonight before we realized it was 11pm and we both had to work at 8. Damn day jobs...

Neil's skeleton guy with filler

Haven't posted in a while! sorry. Neil has been really busy with work and I got really tied up with band stuff, but now we're making some real progress again.

This tattoo is on the back of his arm opposite the Uriel devil that I fixed up. For the moment, it is re-lined and I added some red spider web filler. It seemed appropriate.

Neil's Uriel Devil complete (?)

rad
Well I think we're going to put a done stamp on this guy for the time being. I've already got some sweet ideas that I'm working on with Neil about accompanying pieces and filler. He wants another devil face above that one, so we're compromising on a devil face drawn in my style with heavy emphasis on linework.

Neil's Hands

devotion
So, aside from Rocketboy, Neil asked me to outline his knuckle tattoos so they pop more. I think it worked. Also, he asked me to put a cross on his middle finger so when he flips people off, haters can get the ol' satantic "howdy do".

Neil's RB tattoo

This is a custom piece that I drew for Neil of his dog Rocketboy (who is a girl)

rocketboy is a girl
i want to fill the space even more so im thinking of putting a black halo somewhere on the left to help balance out the black. this was my first time using a 3 round liner. loved it! need to order more.

this was a custom chestpiece that I drew up for Neil. the hands are mine from reference on my camera phone as i was doing the tattoo.

Goat lady

tattoos that have tattoos
this little ditty came out of my sketchbook and was actually the first tattoo i did on neil.

Neil's devil face guy

this one was just re-lined with an 8 round liner and had some solid blacks put in there with an 8 round shader. there was even some cover up action in the area covered by hair by the ear. im still trying to figure out what colors i want it to be. i keep going back to red, but everyone has red devils, you know? gahh. i'll figure it out by the time he's healed.

Neil's bat brought to life

Neil had a pet bat when he was 14, his parents got rid of it so then he ran out and got a tattoo of it on his chest. pretty hardcore. this was Neil's first tattoo so it seemed like a good place to start.

The pinkish hue on the majority of the bat is actually blood mixed with the ink. when it heals it looks like the left side of it.
